Grown & Gathered Designs is a botanical art practice based in Truckee, California.
The work brings together two approaches: living plant arrangements, and preserved forest materials gathered from the Sierra Nevada mountains. Live plants are grown and thoughtfully sourced; forest materials are foraged with care, then preserved to honor their original forms.
Each piece is arranged by hand, allowing the materials to guide the final composition. The focus is on quiet structure, natural texture, and the feeling of a moment held in place.
Created by Ashlen, whose work is rooted in time spent wandering the Sierra Nevada forests with her dog, gathering materials and observing the subtle details of the landscape. In addition to creating bespoke preserved pieces , the practice includes and select custom installations and projects using live plants.
